Choose a Goal

Name one outcome you can recognise when it happens.

1 min · Checked 2026-10-17

Choose your own scope and timing; another person’s response is outside your control.

A goal has a finish. “Have a short conversation in Spanish” is a goal; practising Spanish three evenings a week is an ongoing practice.

  1. Write the outcome in one sentence.
  2. Choose a useful review date. Other people's responses may be outside your control.
  3. Name one small first task, such as choosing a beginner lesson.
  4. Decide whether a recurring practice would help. A goal can stand alone.

You can change or stop the goal when it no longer fits. You do not need a goal just to fill a Life Ring.

Next steps

Create the goal, or choose one smaller step.
