Action guide
Create and Complete a Task
Save one action and record its completion.
Open ActOn this page
Use a task for one action, such as Book the appointment. A goal or practice is optional.
Create one task
- Open Act → Create in Act → Templates → Something else → One-off task. Earlier layouts offer Task / New task.
- Name the action. Review its life area, Life Ring and any dates, then save.
- Open the saved task in Act to check it. In the current layout, Projects contains all open tasks; the Hub's Anytime list links there for undated work.
Personal tasks stay private. Linking a goal or practice does not share them. Shared Circle actions have a separate audience.
Complete or Reopen a Task
- Tick the task, or use Status → Done.
- Review the completion journal sheet: life area, Life Ring, actual minutes, any required evidence and audience. A note or structured template can help but is not always required.
- Choose Save event and wait for the result. Reopen the task to check it is done.
Check the audience: a copied Circle action can preselect its source Circle. Choose Keep private when you do not want to share the reflection. Choose only one Circle for an event.
If offered, Mark done without a note skips written reflection, not required evidence. Practice or course requirements still apply. A completed task can reopen through Status without erasing journal history. Completing preparation tasks does not automatically achieve an ordinary goal.
Edit the Value You See
Tap a displayed value, change it and choose Save changes when shown. Do date and time is when you intend to start; Due date and time is a deadline. The Do time is used for reminders first, with Due as fallback. No date clears timing when available.
A task may have a parent goal and independent associated practices. Notes can hold context, checklists and links; Manage attachments opens evidence attachments. Source information and computed progress are read-only.
Start focus records a separate focus session; saving it does not complete the task. Delete task removes the task after confirmation but keeps completed journal evidence. Deleting a goal also removes its linked tasks, without retiring practices.
Prepare for a Calendar Event
A connected Google Calendar event stays read-only. Its Act detail can offer Open in Google Calendar, Refresh event, a private Goal link, Start focus and Log evidence. Its preparation tasks are private Logit work. Add a task with Loggy proposes one for review without editing Google Calendar.
Supported private completion drafts can also go to Loggy for confirmation. The original sheet explains when sharing, tags or extra actions cannot transfer.
If this did not work
Keep a failed save open and use its retry. A reflection and task completion can save separately: use Finish with saved reflection when offered, rather than writing the same evidence twice. Check status, date, goal and text filters before replacing a missing task.
Next steps
Set reminders or choose a practice or goal.
