Connect Exercise Data Privately
Apple Health on iPhone and Health Connect on Android can import completed workouts in the production store apps. Learn what each connection reads, what stays private, and why workout import remains unavailable on the web.

- On iPhone or Android, open Connected health services and review exactly what Logit will import before you connect.
- Safety boundary
- Exercise, heart-rate, device, and route data are sensitive; import must be explicit, minimal, and private by default.
Connected health services can turn a completed workout into a private Exercise Event. Logit keeps the imported facts separate from anything you write about the experience.
Read this first: workout import is available in the production mobile apps. Apple Health is available in the App Store build on iPhone, and Health Connect is available in the Google Play build on Android. Workout import is not available in the web app.
📍 Where This Stands Today
| Service | Where it stands |
|---|---|
| Apple Health | Available in the production App Store app on iPhone. |
| Health Connect (Android) | Available in the production Google Play app on Android. |
| Logit on the web | Workout import is not available at all. |
- On iPhone, connect Apple Health and choose the workout types and history Logit may read.
- On Android, connect Health Connect and choose the same import boundaries.
- There is nothing to buy and nothing to upgrade to. Connected health is a mobile platform feature, not a paid feature.
- If a connection later stops working, you keep the right to review, export, delete, change retention, and disconnect what already arrived.
What to do today: on iPhone, connect Apple Health; on Android, connect Health Connect. Review the workout types and history before granting access. On the web, log the workout by hand. It takes under a minute, the movement templates already set the life area and the Act ring for you, and by-hand logging has no monthly allowance or daily cap. See Three ways to get the day into Logit.
🎯 Use This When
- You want to know exactly what a health connection will read before you grant access.
- You record workouts in Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android.
- You want a private place to add notes or reflection after a workout — which works today, whether or not import is switched on.
🔒 What Stays Private
Imported Exercise Events start private and are never shared automatically. Logit does not use imported health data for advertising and does not use it to diagnose, treat, prevent, or predict a medical condition.
Routes can reveal sensitive places such as home or work. GPS route import is not currently available, and Logit does not store route payloads. It will remain unavailable until its separate consent, storage, retention, and release controls are complete.
✅ One Thing To Do Now
Open Self → Settings → Connected health services, choose Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, and read what it can import before granting permission. On the web, open the template picker in Reflect, choose a movement template, and give it the minutes it really took; by-hand logging works on every device.
How Import Works
In short: when import is available on your device, you choose a service and data range, grant the first exercise permission, then optionally enable background checks or older history separately — before Logit creates a private Exercise Event and leaves the reflection to you.
Reflect And Connect The Workout To Act
An imported Exercise Event can ask three optional questions inside the event:
- How did that feel?
- What helped?
- Anything you want to repeat or change?
Energy and perceived effort are optional too. Choose Not now to leave this workout unanswered, or turn prompts off for that exercise type on this device. These answers are your writing; the connected service cannot replace them.
Manual and imported Exercise Events use the same workout details where they overlap. Choose a workout type first and Logit shows only the fields that fit: distance, pace, elevation, laps, heart rate, speed, cadence, power, steps, pool details, intervals, or match context as relevant. Choose Add workout details for the richer optional section. Strength and HIIT entries can add exercises, sets, reps, load, bodyweight or assisted work, set type, effort, rest, and whether the set was completed. Those richer details are your journal content; a connected service can fill only facts it actually supplied and cannot erase your set log.
Logit may also find a related workout habit, planned task, or goal. Review the reason, then confirm before anything changes. A confirmed task or habit uses the existing Exercise Event as its completion evidence. A confirmed goal link adds that same event as evidence without completing the goal. Exercise minutes do not silently count toward Act: choose Credit these minutes to Act first. That one confirmed credit remains single even when the event supports several goals.
What You Can Control
- Automatic creation of private Exercise Events.
- Future workouts only, or a selected historical range.
- Exercise types and a minimum duration.
- Whether manually entered workouts are included.
- Heart-rate summaries, when the connected health service and permission allow them.
- Heart-rate retention. GPS route import and retention are not currently available.
- Import notifications and whether connected health service updates refresh imported facts.
Background checks and access to older history are never bundled into the first permission request. After connection, the Sync Trust Centre offers each as a separate optional upgrade. Without older-history access, Logit stays inside the normal recent-history window.
New exercises may appear in the background or the next time Logit opens. Sync now checks when the connected service allows it; iOS, Android, and the source app can influence timing.
Where Is My Workout?
Open a connected health service's Sync Trust Centre to see:
- when the phone last checked the connected service;
- when an exercise last imported successfully;
- whether records are waiting on the phone;
- which permissions are available or limited;
- why the latest record was skipped, in plain language; and
- the next safe troubleshooting action.
Choose Check the last 7 days to replay a bounded recent window. Repeated records update or link to the existing event instead of creating another one. Logit does not show technical logs, health values, private identifiers, or device error details in this view.
Connected health services
| Service | What to expect | Where it stands |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Health | Apple Watch workouts arrive through Apple Health on the paired iPhone. | Available in the production App Store app on iPhone. |
| Health Connect | Includes exercise recorded by compatible Android apps and watches. | Available in the production Google Play app on Android. |
Logit keeps the original source when it is available, so an event can say, for example, Fitbit via Health Connect instead of hiding where it began. Samsung and Garmin origin labels can appear this way, but Logit does not offer direct Samsung Health or Garmin Connect connections.
Updates, Duplicates, And Disconnection
Repeated delivery should update or link to the existing Exercise Event, not create another one. If an imported workout resembles an event you wrote manually, Logit asks you to review the possible duplicate instead of silently merging your words.
The review inbox places the connected health service record beside your journal event and explains why they look similar. You can link them, keep both, ignore the import, or use the imported facts while preserving your writing. You can undo the last decision, approve several review-only imports as private events, and choose a preferred connected health service for an exercise type. If you previously changed an imported duration, distance, energy, elevation, heart-rate, speed, cadence, power, lap, or step value, Use imported value again resets only that field.
An update from a connected health service can refresh imported facts. It does not overwrite your title, notes, reflection, tags, audience, visibility, attachments, or an imported value you chose to override.
Disconnecting stops future imports. Existing Exercise Events and private notes stay in Logit. If the connected health service later deletes a source workout, the event explains that its source is unavailable instead of silently deleting your history.
Reconnecting is always available. Open Connected health services and choose Reconnect on the service you turned off. Reconnecting restarts setup with your previous import choices already filled in, asks you to confirm what Logit will import, and asks the device for permission again before anything is imported. Existing Exercise Events and your notes are untouched, and workouts that already arrived are not imported twice. When a device cannot offer a connection right now, the service keeps its Reconnect option visible with the reason and a Check again control instead of hiding it.
Reconnecting also offers to bring back what you missed. The import range shows a While disconnected option covering the days the service was off, and it is chosen for you so a reconnect does not quietly skip that stretch. You can pick a different range before continuing. Very long gaps are offered up to 90 days, and if a gap is longer than this release can import, Logit says so rather than silently shortening it.
Export, Retention, And Deletion
Open Connected health data to inspect source ownership and:
- export normalized records, provenance, consent history, and overrides;
- choose how long retained heart-rate summaries should remain (GPS routes are not currently imported or stored);
- delete imported facts while preserving the journal event and your reflection; or
- explicitly delete both imported facts and importer-created Exercise Events.
Logit previews affected counts and consequences before a disconnect or deletion. GPS route retention is unavailable because Logit does not currently import or store route payloads.
🌿 Why This Matters
Exercise can support the Act ring without turning private health data into a score or public performance. The useful part is a trustworthy record you can understand later, with sharing still under your control.
It also has somewhere to go. Most reflection apps stop at the reflection: a recorded workout that you notice a pattern in can become a goal or a habit in Act, and many goals bring a Circle where people are working on the same thing. If import is unavailable on your device, such as on the web, a by-hand entry carries exactly the same weight in that loop — the record is what matters, not how it got written.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Can I turn workout import on right now?
Yes, in the production mobile apps. Use Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. Workout import remains unavailable on the web, where logging the workout by hand counts exactly the same.
Is this behind a paid plan?
No. There is nothing to buy and no upgrade that unlocks it.
How do I connect Health Connect on Android?
It is available now in the production Google Play app. Open Self → Settings → Connected health services, choose Health Connect, and review the access before granting it.
Will every watch workout appear immediately?
No. Background timing is controlled partly by the phone and connected health service. Open Logit or choose Sync now if an exercise has not appeared yet.
Does disconnecting delete my Exercise Events?
No. Disconnecting stops future imports; existing events and your notes remain.
Can I reconnect after disconnecting?
Yes. Choose Reconnect on the service in Connected health services. Setup restarts with your saved import choices, asks you to confirm them, and asks the device for permission again. Nothing you already imported is changed or duplicated.
Will I lose the workouts I did while disconnected?
Not if you want them. Reconnecting offers a While disconnected import range covering that gap and selects it for you, so those completed exercises can come back. Workouts already in Logit are not imported twice.
What happens if a health service stops working on its own?
Phones sometimes withdraw access — for example when an app has not been opened for a while, or after restoring a device. Logit tells you once, in your notifications, that the service stopped importing. Your existing Exercise Events are unchanged. If you restore the access in your device settings, Logit picks it back up on its own the next time you open the app; you can also reconnect manually at any time.
Why does older history ask for another permission?
Health Connect treats background reads and data older than its normal history window as additional access. Logit asks for each only after the first connection. Choosing basic exercise import never silently expands permission.
Can I remove connected health service data without deleting my reflection?
Yes. Choose Delete imported facts in Connected health data. Review the preview, then confirm; the journal event and anything you authored remain. Deleting facts and events is a separate choice.
Can Logit import a GPS route without asking?
No. GPS route import is not available in the current release. A future route release will require separate consent and any connected-health-service-specific foreground permission before Logit can store route data.
Does Logit write changes back to Apple Health or Health Connect?
No. The connected-health exercise feature reads completed exercise data only.
Will a suggested Act match complete something automatically?
No. Logit explains the possible match and waits for your confirmation. If an item requires another kind of evidence, open it in Act to finish it there.
Can I stop the reflection prompt for one exercise type?
Yes. Choose Don't prompt for that exercise type. This preference is saved on the current device; the imported facts and existing Exercise Events are unchanged.
