Import a Photo Album

Review album entries and continue an interrupted import on the same device.

3 min · Checked 2026-10-17

Platforms: iPhone and Android album selection; web uses the system photo picker

Photo drafting must be available in your account, with requests remaining.

Photos become journal events only after review and approval; removing imports does not delete your device originals.

Use the album importer for several occasions. Single-photo events and written pages have their own review tasks.

You need photo drafting available in your account and version, selected-photo access, and processing allowance. Native iPhone and Android pickers can list albums; on web, select the album's photos in the system picker. Keep your originals: temporary import work is not an archive.

Import and save an album

  1. Open Reflect → Add event → Import a photo album and choose Import all photos in an album. If you opened single-event Auto journal, return to the album entry point to import several occasions.
  2. Select the album, or its photos on web. Review the preflight album name, count, batches and detected years.
  3. Start the import. Logit uploads manageable batches, grouping likely occasions by local day and confirmed place.
  4. Read each proposed event. Check every photo, its facts, date, duration, life area and Life Ring. Correct uncertain fields and compare likely duplicates before saving.
  5. Edit, split, merge or remove unwanted proposals. Choose the reflection or Reflect later where offered, then save the events you want.
  6. Use Review next album batch until finished. View timeline opens All Time Journal; open an event there to verify it is saved.

Your photos become journal events only after approval. Uploading or analysing a batch is not a save.

Continue after an interruption

Return to the album import screen on the same device and account. When persisted progress is available, choose Continue this album upload or Continue this album review. Completed batches are recorded before the next starts; the continuation checks existing batches before repeating an uncertain upload.

A pending upload and a ready review are different states. Read the continuation message and keep the screen open while it works. Temporary import work can expire; follow an expiry or unavailable message rather than assuming it can be resumed indefinitely. Use the album continuation card when it appears. There is no separate unified Import inbox in the current interface.

Review likely duplicates

Compare a proposed match with the existing event and its photo evidence. When offered:

  • Attach photo adds the selected photo to the existing event.
  • Merge events adds reviewed objective facts and photos.
  • The skip choice dismisses a proposed duplicate.

These choices affect Logit's copy, never your camera-roll originals. Resolve uncertain fields before merging, and refresh the review when another import may have saved the matching photo first. Do not approve an unchanged second event merely because another batch found it.

If this did not work

SymptomWhat to do
Some photos failedRetry the failed photos or explicitly skip them. Earlier created batches remain queued.
No continuation appearsCheck the same account and device. Saved events remain in history even if temporary progress is unavailable. Select originals again only after checking which events saved.
Album does not appearCheck limited photo access; on web select its photos manually because browsers cannot list native albums.
Unsure whether save succeededOpen the saved timeline or refresh the current review before retrying. Uploaded photos alone do not prove a journal save.
A detected occasion is too largeSplit deliberately. Each upload batch holds up to 250 photos; a joined single event review can hold up to 2500. This is not a total album limit.

Similar-photo analysis can use a representative image; successfully uploaded photos stay attached. Removing an unsaved proposal does not delete an already saved event. Read removal confirmations.
